American Idol

by on April 27, 2004

As an older parent, I’ve always crowed that having young kids has kept me young. One of the ways they do this is by keeping us in touch with trends in popular culture. If it wasn’t for my twelve-year old daughter, I would never be an American Idol fan. I don’t watch much network television, but Erica’s interest in the show has gotten me involved too. One thing I do keep an eye on, however, is trends on the Internet. And according to my sources, “American Idol” is a hot search term, and getting hotter.

I don’t have a favorite contestant yet, and I haven’t ever voted. But I do watch. How about you?

We just got into it this year, we; being my 5 kids, myself and husband. It’s almost the highlight of the week! My kids are 14 to 3 years old, 4 boys and a girl. Go Diana! She puts her whole heart into each song. Kids are great and they are such an inspiration.

I am a fan. My favorite person was Jennifer and now that she is gone I am a little hurt. I think that she was one of the best performers the week she was voted off. Yes, I did vote for her several times but it was time for her to go. She has recvd a lot of press because of this and I hope she gets a contract with someone.

I am also an older parent. I have two boys ages 6 and 10. I/we are not into American Idol, but I can talk fluently about Harry Potter, Pokemon and Lilo & Stitch.

as an older parent to I must admit that my husband and two boys who are 9 and 10 are faithfull watchers of American idol. We have watched the show since it first strted and loved it. No I dont call in and vote but we all have our favorites. We also enjoy Country Star which is the sm=ame thing but with adults. Keep the shows coming I say music is a good thing.
