Do you follow me on Twitter? A few years ago I stopped tweeting about Surfnetkids resources for calendar events, but I am going to start again. Yay!

The Surfnetkids Calendar includes both the obvious (Martin Luther King Day: Jan 16, 2012 http://bjf.me/xKchG1) and the obscure (Nellie Bly Returns From Her 72-day Trip Around the World: Jan 25, 1890 http://bjf.me/ABiIBJ).

But I have a question. Should I tweet all the events in the Surfnetkids Calendar? That might be 2 or 3 a day. Or should I limit myself to 5 or 7 per week? Your thoughts, please! I wonder how many tweets is too many?

Okay, full disclosure here, I still have my Kindle 2.0 and I haven’t been persuaded to upgrade yet (although I do sometimes hear the Kindle Fire calling my name!!) But if you have not yet fallen under their spell, this holiday season is the perfect time. In addition to the hundreds of thousands of bestselling [...]

Siri Says the Darndest Things!

by Barbara Feldman October 18, 2011

I don’t have an iPhone 4S because I ♥ my Android Thunderbolt. But many of my hip friends do, and a few of them have started sites about the funny things said by the iPhone’s new voice-powered virtual assistant, Siri. Here they are: Gary Rosenzweig made a video for MacMost.com titled “Siri Says Some Funny [...]

How to Track Multiple Sites with Google Analytics

by Barbara Feldman September 7, 2011

As the publisher of more than fifty sites, I have more than a hundred profiles in my Google Analytics accounts. Spotting trends across this many individual reports is rather difficult without an aggregate view. After thinking about it, I figured I had four options. I’m sure there are more ways to do this, but here’s [...]

Which WordPress Theme Do I Recommend?

by Barbara Feldman February 22, 2011

Are you a WordPress fan? I am. Over the last twelve months, I have built more than forty sites with WordPress (including this one.) Along the way, I learned a lot about getting things done with WordPress. A few days ago a friend asked me which premium WordPress theme/framework I recommended, and I decided to [...]

My BlackBerry is Not Working

by Barbara Feldman January 7, 2011

“My blackberry is not working.” “What’s the matter? It run out of juice?” “No, no. It’s completely frozen!” This comedy sketch from BBC One is sure to have you roaring out loud. Just yesterday, on a telecon with my son, he was talking about seeing Mexican Blackberrys everywhere… and for about 90 seconds I thought [...]

If Santa left an Amazon Kindle under your tree, here are some sites where you download free eBooks. Free eBooks at Amazon: these include classics that are out of copyright, and limited-time promotional ebooks. Jungle Search: provides a price range search at Amazon, so, for example, you can look for books less than $5.00 or [...]

Free Online Storage

by Barbara Feldman November 2, 2010

This week I am meeting in a secret location (ha! ha!) with a mastermind group that I’ve been in for more than eleven years. Today the topic of Dropbox came up, and we all agreed on what a great, free tool it is. Dropbox is a simple-to-use file synchronization utility that uses “cloud” storage to [...]

From Movable Type To WordPress

by Barbara Feldman September 20, 2010

Do you like my new blog look? This journey started months ago when I decided that my blog needed a redesign. Like any nagging thought slipping in and out of one’s consciousness, it just festered until suddenly last Sunday night, after watching two episodes of Mad Men, I did a trial run-though of moving my [...]

Reading on a Kindle vs. an iPod Touch

by Barbara Feldman April 16, 2010

Since getting my Kindle in August, I have become a fiction-reading machine! I am loving it. The odd part, that I didn’t really analyze, was that BEFORE the Kindle, I was reading mostly non-fiction. I never really thought about why I made the switch, but a friend of mine pointed out that he prefers fiction [...]
