As for &quot;Gung Hay Fat Choy&quot; ,hehe, I didn&#039;t recognise it at first sight, because it sounds like Cantonese(one of the dialects in China) but not Mandarin. If you say &quot;GOng hay Fa ([fa:]) ChAI&quot; (in fact it should be &quot;gong xi fa cai&quot; in standard Chinese, but I guess maybe it&#039;s difficult for you to read)
It means &quot; wish you would earn a lot of money&quot; , so we often say it to adults.It&#039;s really a good wish.And it would be better to wish children to improve their study.
