August 10, 2006How to Eat Fried Worms Sweepstakes"How to Eat Fried Worms" is a new movie coming out on August 25 about a middle-school student who stands up to a bully, based on the book of the same name by Thomas Rockwell . When I was approached by the movie promotion people and asked if I was interested in hosting a sweepstakes, I said yes for two reasons. First, because I liked the message of an underdog middle-school student beating a bully. And second, because I haven't done a sweepstakes or a contest in a really, really long time, and it sounded like fun! Enter the contest (when it goes live) at the following link: After you've signed up, you can play some games sponsored by the "How to Eat Fried Worms" movie: How to Eat Fried Worms: Worm Slinger How to Eat Fried Worms: Worm Out Or read my column about bullying: More Posts Like This One: What's New? Posted by: Coleen on August 15, 2006 3:11 PMI'm glad to hear that there's a movie coming out. My daughters enjoyed this book years ago and I'm sure my students will be interested, once they learn that there's a movie version. I'm glad to see that your form allows for people outside the U.S. to enter, though there's no room to indicate a country name in case one of us is a lucky winner. Posted by: Peg on August 15, 2006 11:20 AMHi, And thank you for all you've been doing over the years for children. Your site and e-mails are such a safe haven of information and inspiration for parents and adults. Posted by: Isaiah Sheppard on August 15, 2006 9:33 AMI am a huge supporter of Walden Media. They have promoted treasures like Narnia, Winn Dixie, Hoot and now Fried Worms. It would be great to win this prize package. They have some previews throughout the country for screenings of Fried Worms. You can go to their website at www.waldenmedia.com for more info. I am sad that our school district will not let me access the games. I think the students would have fun playing them. Thanks for all your hard work to make my job easier.
