Mandatory Evacuation Order Lifted

A small glimmer of good news: the mandatory evacuation order has been lifted for my hometown of Solana Beach. The news arrived about an hour ago. But with the fires still raging, and very little news about what exactly is happening where, we are still in limbo.

I live in San Gabriel Valley. We have been watching the fires and can see the smoke from our home. Is there anything we can do in the way of donations? I know money to the Red Cross of course...

Our thoughts are with you and the other evacuees.

Dear Barbara,

I, too, am from the East Coast--New Jersey. We are watching the news every day on the Fox Channel. We are all in prayer for every one of you. (We know of the devastation as a friend of mine recently lost everything in a fire, including his dog that he loved.) We are also praying that the recovery process is speedy.
