I am currently looking for some help with my own incident. Yesterday, I was riding my bicycle when a driver pulled in front of me, leaving me no time or room to negotiate around him/her. After somersaulting through the air at 20 miles per hour & landing on my butt, the driver sped away!!! I was able to get the last 5-digits of the California license, along with the make/model & approximate year of the car. However, I was told by the CHP officer taking the report that there is no way to find the vehicle without the entire 7-digits. I am now pretty shaken, mad, bruised, & left with a bike that may need to be replaced (it is a very expensive bike I use for triathlons & training). I am also very thankful that my injuries were relatively minor. Nonetheless, I would like for this person to take responsibility for this horrific action. If you or anyone else who reads this can offer some suggestions on how to find this person so they can be held accountable, I would appreciate it. If I am successful in finding a way to track this person down, I will post here so that perhaps others may benefit. -Bob Barbara,

My car was hit by a UHAUL truck. Fortunately I was not in the vehicle as it was parked outside my house. Things have finally gotten settled. Best wishes on a speedy recovery (emotional or otherwise)! He was overtaking on the brow of a hill and hit me head on. He didn't even come to see how I was in my poor squashed car which was a total right off. The accident happened on a lonely country road in Cumbria UK and I was lucky that another driver came upon me, stopped and checked to see if I was OK. He called for help. Unfortunately the ambulance got lost and it took over an hour to get to me before the firemen could cut me free from the car. Hopefully one day I will walk again and I might even get an apology from the policeman!!
