April 3, 2003NewsMonMy colleague Paul Myers of Talk Biz News has introduced a desktop Windows product for newsletter publishers (and readers) that does an end run around the problems of email delivery. First, a review of the problem. With stricter and stricter email filtering, fewer and fewer opt-in newsletters are being delivered to subscribers. Of course, just like tuna fisherman, ISPs are only attempting to catch tuna (SPAM) in their nets, but in the process are also catching dolphins (opt-in newsletters.) Okay --- that was a lame comparison --- but I haven't yet finished my first cup of morning coffee. Paul's solution is a Windows program that automatically alerts readers to new editions of their favorite newsletters, which can then be read online. It is called NewsMon (newsletter monitor) and can be downloaded from NewsMon.com. Although I haven't yet announced it to my list (soon, soon) those wanting the NewsMon version of my newsletters, can enter these addresses into their NewsMon program: Surfing the Net with Kids Barbara Feldman: Welcome to My Office More Posts Like This One: Newsletter Publishing Posted by Barbara J.
