August 26, 2003NormalWriters crave feedback. Actually I'm talking about myself here. A number of months ago I started adding links to this Surfnetkids Journal in the "Dear Reader" space of my newsletter so that I could hear from you. And last week several of you wrote to say how much you enjoyed my personal ramblings, and one reader exclaimed "I just love reading your stories of the adventures with your family! You're so NORMAL!" I thought about this for a long time. Normal. Normal? We are all woven from the same human fabric, aren't we? Our desires for our children, our wishes for the health and safety of our families. We are more alike than we are different. I'm proud to be normal. More Posts Like This One: My Life 2003 Posted by Barbara J. Feldman at August 26, 2003 9:42 PM | Comments (1) Read Comments
I admire all phases of your work so much. I write a column for our local weekly and I am SO pleased when someone comments on it or responds to it. So I know how you feel. You provide a great resource for educators and families, too. Thank you and please continue. You are right about "normal", of course. What is special is that each of us is given a gift. What seems easy to someone using their particular gift seems hard to another, and vice versa. You are very gifted. We train ourselves here, working with young children, to seek out the special gift of each child. We call it learning styles or multiple intelligences. Please continue sharing your wonderful gift to us. Posted by: Bettie on August 29, 2003 9:15 AM |
