Planning for 2010

Last year around this time, I asked about New Year's Resolutions and shared my resolution to handle five pieces of paper a day in order to process the deluge of paper that arrives on my desk each day.

I am happy to report that although the "five a day" didn't work for me, I have successfully conquered my paper inbox this year by hiring an assistant I call my Paperwork Ninja. So, although the goal of handling paper better might seem like small one, it has been a problem for most of my adult life, and now I am closer and closer to what David Allen calls "mind like water."

"Mind like water" is a state of mind where you are so organized that you can react to any situation in a completely appropriate way (not under react or over react) and then quickly return to a state of calm.

Anyway, this year, instead of a resolution, I am going to write done a set of goals for 2010. One of them will be to complete the Surfnetkids redesign that is happening behind the scenes at this very moment (very exciting, but still top secret!) and to add more community components to my Surfnetkids.com site.

How about you? What are your goals for 2010?

I live in Beijing, I happened to find your website five years back when I was trying to search for some good site for my son, I follow along since. Although I haven't bought a printable membership (my son is too old for that coloring stuff), I love your site, especially your newsletter, it's inspring, informative, and it is fun! And I always (almost ALWAYS) like your topic, like this New Year's Resolution! They always come so timely and meet what you are thinking. I Wish you and your site a Happier New Year!

I write down my goals in a 2010 goals booklet. It is always in my wallet and I review it regularly. It keeps me focused on what really matters to me.

Enjoy and share,
Ronny
