Copy protecting an ebook is definitely a waste of time. If someone wants the information bad enough, all they have to do, is to simply take the time to rewrite it, and there you go; your copy protection is gone!
Like was mentioned earlier, don't waste your time on protecting the ebook, instead; spend more time marketing and promoting it. There's no fool proof way to protect anything any way. If someone wants it bad enough, they'll find a way to get it and they will.
If you want to learn more about information publishing and information marketing, then check out my blog at the following here below.

As a middle ground that is a proven deterrent against illigal file sharing that is used by all the big book publishers. You might want to try PDF ebook stamping. The services will stamp your ebooks on demand with your customers name and email address on each page. This way customers will think twice about sharing out a file with their contact details on every page.
Ebook Stamper have a free to use subscription.

You could try some PDF DRM software. Have a look at lizard Safeguard for instance.

Hi-I just purchased 70,000 ebooks with the right to resell. Seemed easy but, I thought about and I really have no clue of what to do. Can I just put them on ebay or do you have to do the whole website thing, and the clickbank thing to get rid of them and make money?

Hi Barbara,
I really hope this gets to you. I'm interested in marketing an E-book, truth be told- i don't have a single clue how to go about it. Can you please fill me in on the details? I'll really appreciate it.
Thanks a Bil.
Please note: I live and work in West Africa.
