Split Run Testing

Months ago I wrote in this very blog that I was going to test a "pretty" ebook cover vs. a "plain" one. The product I was going to use for the test was undergoing a major version upgrade, and I decided I didn't want to invest my time in a product that was soon to be completely revamped.

But I did find another tool to run my A/B (split run) test. It has a pretty goofy name: Scientific Web Marketing System, but I'm thrilled with the flexibility of the product itself. To use it, you must know how to upload Perl scripts, set UNIX file permissions, and be comfortable editing a script to insert your file path names. Pretty standard stuff for webmasters.

I just finished a test of the header graphic on my "How to Add Games to Your Site" landing page.

And the other version didn't:

Which version do YOU think performed better?

My money's on the graphic headline...it just looks more enticing and professional. But hey, who knows....lol. Great site, very imformative. Helpful tips and links!
