I was born in Brooklyn, NY, but moved to Santa Monica , CA at age six. Growing up in the sixties, I imagined myself becoming a sophisticated career girl living in New York City. Those of you of a certain age may recognize the similarity of my dreams to the life lead by "That Girl" played by Marlo Thomas (a television series which ran from 1966 to 1971.)

As it turns out, I did lead an exciting life as a single career girl, living in Europe for several years, and not marrying until I was 32. But New York City never did become part of my life. In fact, the last time I visited NYC was eighteen years ago, when I was pregnant with my first child.

But as you read this, I am playing tourist in NYC with my daughter; just the two of us in the Big Apple. It's her spring break (but not my son's) and I've always promised her a trip to New York. So here we are. Ta da!!
