We did it! On Sunday, the first day of spring, the kids and I planted our vegetable garden. Because last year, we did the weeding, but never put any plants in the ground, we are very proud of this year’s accomplishment. We planted tomotoes, jalepenos, sweet peppers, zucchini, cilantro, parsley, and pole beans.
We’re not the sort of gardeners that you’ll see on TV or in a magazine. Our rows are crooked, and I’m not sure that all our plants have enough space around them. But here’s a snapshot.
Oh… and that’s not our puppy. That’s Shana. She digs underneath the fence of our backyard neighbor to visit our dogs (Felix and Latke) nearly every day. And I just learned that she can easily jump over the little chicken-wire fence we built to keep the bunnies out. Uh oh! I hope she doesn’t like tomatoes.
